The King’s School has a history dating back to 597 making it Britain’s oldest boarding school. The school is in the grounds of Canterbury Cathedral and St Augustine’s Abbey – both World Heritage Sites – right in the heart of the medieval town centre of Canterbury.

A stunning combination of modern 21st Century teaching, recreational and accommodation facilities mixes with the medieval College buildings and grounds making for a magical experience. Most classrooms include wi-fi and interactive whiteboards, while off-site sporting facilities include an indoor swimming pool, gym, tennis and squash courts, and outdoor playing fields.

Summer Plus Option: Our Summer Plus Tennis course is held at Canterbury, offering professional tennis coaching for young learners.

  • One full day and one half-day excursion per week
  • Full day excursions include London Sightseeing, Cambridge, Stonehenge, Brighton
  • Half-day excursions include Windsor Castle, historic Hastings and Dover, Leeds Castle.
  • Full afternoon and evening activity programme is organised; including a choice of sports (swimming, table tennis, basketball, volleyball, football) as well as other activities including movie nights, drum workshops, karaoke night, student discos, bowling and many more.

If you choose our Summer Plus Tennis option at Canterbury, you can combine your English course with 8 hours per week of tennis coaching from full-time LTA tennis professionals. You will learn about strokes, serving, and tactics for both single and doubles play.
