The following documents must accompany your application to a university in the UK. Please bring these with you when you come to the UK.
1) |
Your final university, or secondary school/high school grade report, (also called a mark sheet, or course transcript). |
2) |
Your university, secondary school or high school graduation certificate. |
3) |
An academic reference from your tutor, teacher or professor. This should be someone who has experience of teaching you. |
4) |
A reference from your employer as well, if you have had a job. |
5) |
An official English translation of documents 1 and 2. |
Be sure that you ask for the reference to be printed on the headed notepaper of the institution (school or company), and if it hasn't been written in English, ask for an English translation. These should be in a sealed envelope marked 'Reference for --- your name---'.
Postgraduates: You will need TWO academic referees but you only need to identify people who will be able to give you a reference, and bring their e-mail addresses. Later with help at St Giles, you will be able to chose universities to apply to, and then you can e-mail them the website address of those universities. They can download the correct referee forms to fill in and post to you, or to the university directly.
