Welcome to the St Giles International Academic and Careers Counselling Service. Counsellors offer free advice to registered St Giles students who wish to enter university at any level or take some training to further their career in the UK or the USA.
We offer the following services

Counselling advice in person on studying at Foundation, Undergraduate, pre-Masters and Graduate level in the UK or the USA. |

Advice on typical IELTS or TOEFL requirements to prove a sufficient level of English. |

Assistance in choosing a variety of pathways that will enable you to complete your academic objectives. There are more than 100 universities in the UK and many specialist colleges, and more than 4,000 in the USA. Courses for any particular subject vary between institutions. Counsellors help the student understand the course descriptions in order to choose a degree course which suits their needs. |

Class teachers and the Academic Counsellor will write a reference for St Giles students where needed. |

We help you to complete your application forms, check and offer advice on sending your supporting papers, and show you how to track the progress of your applications. |
Our understanding of the application process for all courses in the UK and our experience in administering successful applications, mean that your application stands a much greater chance of success when St Giles is taking care of it.

There are restrictions on when you can apply to a university in the UK that must be adhered to:
For undergraduate courses starting in September 2007, applications must be submitted to UCAS between 1st September 2006 and 30th June 2007. Students from EU countries are advised to submit their applications by 15th January 2007.
For undergraduate applications to Cambridge and Oxford Universities, and for medicine, dentistry and veterinary science courses starting in September 2007, applications must be submitted to UCAS by 15th October 2006.
For foundation courses starting in September 2007, applications must be submitted to UCAS between 1st October 2006 and 1st September 2007. However, some very popular institutions will fill their places on foundation courses before 1st September, so an early application is advisable.
For postgraduate courses starting in September 2007, applications must be submitted between 1st October 2006 and 15th August 2007. However, some very popular institutions will fill their places on postgraduate courses before 15th August, so an early application is advisable.
Please note: St Giles must receive your completed applications at least one month before the UCAS deadline of the course you are applying for.
