St Giles Educational Trust

At the heart of our teacher training operation is the St Giles Educational Trust (SGET) which was established in 1970

The Trust is a registered charity and its key aim is to promote excellence in English language teaching through the St Giles initial teacher training courses and continuing professional development programmes for UK and overseas teachers. It organises the Teachers Tuesday Club’ seminar programme at St Giles London Central and it undertakes a range of training and consultancy assignments.

The SGET also works in partnership with the British Council, government agencies, NGOs, UK/international charities and education institutions on projects to support English language teaching in developing countries. It offers a small number of scholarships each year to teachers from these countries who are linked to the overseas projects and it also participates in action research.
