The General English course at St Giles Cambridge is designed to benefit students who hope to communicate with confidence and ease in real-life situations. The main goal is to improve speaking and listening skills. Students can choose from group or one-to-one lessons; one-to-one lessons can be combined with group lessons on our English Plus Programme.

Learning the English language in an English-speaking city such as Cambridge is a fantastic way to improve your language skills, as you will have the chance to practise English both in and out of the classroom. From ordering a meal in a restaurant to making purchases in shops, you will have opportunities to talk with native English speakers every day.

Classes have a maximum of 12 students which allows teachers to provide each student with the personal attention they require. Classes will focus on improving students’ speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, which will help them reach their full potential. Students can choose to study for between 1 to 24 weeks; any student who wishes to study for longer should look at our International Semester Courses. The minimum age for this course is 16.
