After completing the TEC course at St Giles Brighton, participants can further enhance their qualifications by undertaking an assessment to earn the Trinity Certificate for Practising Teachers. This Level 6 qualification is ideal for experienced teachers and is highly practical in nature. The Trinity CertPT is designed to advance professional development by helping teachers evaluate, adapt, and create teaching materials tailored to their own unique teaching contexts.

Read more about the TEC course here.

How is the Trinity CertPT assessed?

You'll complete four assessed written tasks (750-1000 words each) focusing on resources for teaching in your context:

  • Task 1: An evaluation of a teaching resource
  • Task 2: A rationale for a resource you have adapted for your learners
  • Task 3: A rationale for an original resource you have created for your learners
  • Task 4: A reflection on the use of Task 2 or 3 with your learners

During the face-to-face TEC course you'll have all the guidance and input you need to complete these tasks. Your personal tutor will then support you as you complete these tasks remotely after the end of the course. There are three pass grades: Pass, Pass with Merit and Pass with Distinction.
