The IELTS academic reading exam consists of a 1-hour test in 3 separate sections with 40 questions based on 1 reading text (between 2000 and 2750 words) per section.
During the course of the test students will be given a question sheet (this may be written on during the test but must not be removed from the examination room after the test), and an answer sheet (all answers must be written on the answer sheet before the end of the 1-hour test).
The IELTS academic writing exam consists of 2 tasks that are to be completed during the 1-hour test.
The IELTS academic oral exam consists of 3 sections on a one-to-one basis between the student and examiner:
During the IELTS academic listening exam students will be asked to listen to a recording and answer a series of questions with 4 separate test sections; this will last approximately 30 minutes. After this the student will be given an extra 10 minutes to properly complete the answer sheet.
In this section we have provided some useful IELTS practice tips which may help you to better prepare for the exam.
