Our London Highgate school is located in a prosperous North London suburb. It is just outside central London (the journey takes about 20 minutes by public transport), but still has easy access to tourist attractions, shops, and nightlife. The school is based in a large Edwardian building with lovely gardens and plenty of outdoor space. This is a medium sized school which combines all the attractions of city life with a relaxed atmosphere and high levels of personal attention.
The courses on offer cater to all age groups from juniors (aged 14+) to adults, and to a variety of levels - we have courses suitable for complete beginners who would like to start learning English through to people who are preparing to study or work in the UK or who need to pass IELTS exams as part of university applications. From short and long-term General English courses to exam preparation courses, we really do have something for everyone. London Highgate also offers a number of English for Special Purposes courses with topics ranging from English for Business to English for Art & Design. During the summer, we also run a popular London Experience programme, combining language lessons with trips and excursions to some of the city’s most famous sights.
London Highgate also offers the Cambridge CELTA, one of the most widely recognized and accepted initial teacher training qualifications. The one month intensive course combines theory and practice to equip participants to begin their careers in English language teaching. The Cambridge CELTA is also available as a part-time course that runs for 12 weeks. We also run the St Giles Teachers of English course, which is aimed at practicing non-native speaker teachers who want to work on both language skills and methodology.
