St Giles Opens a New English Language School in New York City!

On the 14th March 2011, St Giles International was delighted to open its brand new centre in the heart of Manhattan, right next to the Empire State Building. The centre joins the St Giles group as the seventh school to offer year-round adult and executive English courses.

With a maximum capacity of 250 students, the medium-sized English language school offers a combination of excellent levels of personal attention and support, with the excitement of living and learning in New York – one of the worlds’ greatest cities.

The centre offers fantastic facilities on the specially designed 7th Floor of 330 Fifth Avenue, including Interactive Whiteboards in every classroom and a dedicated Platinum Centre and Lounge.

As well as a wide choice of English courses, the centre also offers students a variety of evening and weekend social programme activities to enjoy so they can make the most of living in the Big Apple!

During the first week alone, students were treated to a visit to the Empire State Building at night, St Patrick’s Day Parade, a dinner buffet at the top of the Marriot, a visit to the Met, and a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge.

Emin Erden Hiraoglu, from Turkey, was one of the first students to study at the school. We asked him what he thought of the new centre and he told us the following:

‘the school’s location is great, and the school classrooms are very comfortable. The most important thing is that all staff are very helpful and kind. I feel like I am at my home or with my friends.’
