St Giles Nottingham Junior Summer Camp – Feedback from Week One

The international students studying at our St Giles Nottingham Summer Camp had a fantastic first week. Young learners aged between 10 and 17 from all over the world have enjoyed a combination of English lessons and exciting activities and excursions.

The theme of the first week at St Giles Nottingham was ‘Robin Hood’. The students visited Sherwood Forest on Tuesday afternoon, and they also spent time in their English lessons learning about the Robin Hood story. Each class then had a scene from a play called ‘Robin Hood and his Merry Men’ to learn and perform in the last lesson of the week on Saturday. The students and the teachers thoroughly enjoyed making props, rehearsing for the play and acting out the scenes. Next week the theme is Shakespeare and we can’t wait to see what the students come up with for that project!

Students have also enjoyed some excellent activities and excursions, including a trip to the picturesque York Minster, the ever popular game of capture the flag and on Saturday night it was time for the all singing, all dancing, spectacular St Giles Talent Show Bonanza!

On Sunday, current students headed to Manchester to visit the world famous home of Manchester United, Old Trafford and the captivating MOSI museum. Meanwhile, another 70 students arrived to study English with us in Nottingham for our second week – choosing a great day to join us with the sun shining on our beautiful campus.
